По поводу короткого сезона в 13 серий:
For me, there are certain chapters in a book, and our first chapter was always designed to end with 13. And that hasn't changed as we found out we were just a 13-episode order. We are building towards a big finale that will resolve a lot of our Season 1 mysteries, but still leave things open, especially on the emotional side for much, much, much more story to come. That's sort of the plan for the back half.
Ну, у меня такое чувство и было. И мне кажется, что "добирать" до более длинного сезона они планировали проходными сериями из жизни юных охотников. Только их, как мне кажется, можно было бы безболезненно добавлять/убирать.
По поводу будущего:
With the changes at The CW, do you think there's a future on the network for more seasons?
It is a time of uncertainty but that goes for all of us. We don't know. But what we do know is the task at hand in front of us and we're really focused on putting forth the best story that we can.
Но я невольно обратила внимание, что и Robert Holden Dierx опять поставил тэг "1 сезон" и сам Робби постоянно отзывается о текущем показе как о показе 1 сезона. Плюс, по-моему, он гораздо более оптимистичен в этом интервью насчет продолжения. Возможно, у 2 сезона есть не такие плохие шансы.

Хотя я все равно не понимаю, что там можно столько времени снимать. С учетом, что до этого в нормальном режиме у них на серию уходило чуть больше недели, за прошедшее время можно уже трижды переснять 13-ю серию с нуля

I think if we keep seeing good numbers we will be renewed and we will know closer to May. I also think if the CW isn’t interested they will shop it around to other streamers!

Can’t truly answer that question as I’m not in the head of our showrunner but I can say we are shooting the last sсript as it’s written.
